HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU HAVE FOR ME?2025Ventriloquist dummy, mixed media
A ventriloquist’s dummy speaks directly to the visitor, their questions and remarks ranging from welcoming to probing. ‘These spaces are designed to receive you like a prince,’ it sounds. But also: ‘Are you leaving already? Don’t you have the time?’ These words strip the viewer of their familiar, safe position, rendering the cool remove of their outsider’s gaze insufficient. Instead, the visitor finds themselves addressed directly and incorporated into the narrative. The installation prompts reflection and forces one to take a position: no longer neutral, the act of looking now calls for accountability.
