With Akram in Brussels is a short video in which the artist asks a Moroccan friend to appear. He is filmed, absorbed in the screen of his phone, until he realizes he is being watched: he then approaches the camera and kicks it. This video enacts a reversal of the gaze, disrupting the expectations of a viewer hungry for identification and categorization.
