2003-2019 PAINTINGS SERIE 

In this series of paintings, each work is titled with the date of its creation and the date of its erasure. Halloubi uses canvases he produced in Tangier during his artistic training. These paintings, which he carried with him during his migration to Europe and throughout his many travels and residencies — in Brussels, Ghent, Amsterdam, New York… — were rolled up, transported, and eventually erased. They have come to embody objects and surfaces that record movement itself: the very incarnation of a worldview shaped by the displaced and the exiled, always ready to begin again, elsewhere.
